It was narrated that Mu’aawiyah ibn Haydah said: “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Woe to the one who talks to make the people laugh and tells lies, woe to him, woe to him.’” (narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 235. He said: this is a hasan hadeeth. Also narrated by Abu Dawood, 4990).
Ok let's make a promise to Allah right now. Tomorrow is April Fools Day. But we won't lie or do any silly pranks. Islam isn't against having fun but not in this way. Deal? Here's a Hadith for the occasion. Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said, " I guarantee a house in the middle of Paradise for a man/woman who avoids lying even if he/she was joking." [Abu Dawud Book 41 Hadith 4782]

Praise be to Allah, to Whom belong all things in the heavens and on earth: to Him be Praise in the Hereafter: and He is Full of Wisdom, acquainted with all things. [Quran | Chp.34:1]
